Next gen iPod Touch to feature 3D display. Will iPhone 5?

According to the Japanese Mac blog Macotakara Apple’s next iPod Touch device may have the same 3D display that Nintendo's 3DS will feature.  This means 3D with no glasses.  Macotakara is citing the many patents that Apple recently filed that most of which relate to 3D technology.  They also say that they have received information confirming these rumors from a source who works for a manufacturer of LCD screens. The same source said they are creating a mini LCD screen that is capable of displaying in 3D with the use of glasses.   Supposedly the FaceTime camera, gyroscope and motion sensors,  will have the capability to track head motion and optimize 3D based on where your head is in relation to your device.  Pretty cool stuff. Nintendo will release the long awaited 3DS shortly and it will be the first console that provides 3D viewing minus the glasses.   It's this 3D functionality that Nintendo is banking on to provide an advantage over the current iPod Touch.   Nintendo better hurry up because it sounds like Apple is hot on their trail.
