Verizon Offers iPhone Trade-Ins to AT&T Subscribers

February 3 is the official date when Verizon customers can put in their orders for the iPhone 4, but certain corporate users are getting a chance to sneak in line. Pre-order sales begin at 3am EST on February 3rd, but prospective buyers can pre-register at myaccount.verizonwireless.com. Then at the witching hour, current customers can order upgrades or new lines via their Verizon accounts. Verizon has also offered some AT&T iPhone customers the opportunity to trade-in their old GSM iPhone for credit towards a new Verizon CDMA iPhone 4. The trade-in prices being offered are: iPhone 2G - 16GB, $60;?iPhone 3G - 16GB, $105;?iPhone 3Gs 32GB, $160;?iPhone 4- 16GB, $280 and?iPhone 4 - 32GB, $360.

While these figures are more than Verizon has previously given on trade-ins, they’re considerably less than what iPhone owners could get on their own by selling their gently used handsets on eBay or Craigslist. But since there are always customers who value convenience, they’ll get takers—especially corporate users who aren’t spending their own money, anyway.
