Verizon iPhone Pre-Orders Already Sold Out

If you had planned to pre-order a Verizon iPhone 4 but haven’t done it already, you may be out of luck, at least until next week. In less than 24 hours, the carrier's entire pre-order stock has sold out.

Apple and Verizon began taking orders for the new iPhone at 3 a.m. EST Thursday morning, only to shut them down around 7 p.m. The Verizon site gives the message “We are no longer taking pre-sale orders,” while Apple’s online store says the Verizon iPhone is “Currently Unavailable.” That means potential buyers who didn’t act fast enough will have to wait until February 9, when both Apple and Verizon will give those who failed to act quickly enough another chance when online ordering re-opens at 3 a.m. ET. A Verizon spokesperson declined to say exactly how many iPhones had been held aside for pre-orders, but once they were gone, customers had to wait until the handsets went on sale to the public. If you lost out this time, be prepared to head down to the nearest Apple, Verizon or Best Buy store at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10. Hopefully, Verizon will be better prepared by then and have enough iPhones in stock to satisfy the demand.
