TUAW just announced that Apple is inviting select media representatives to a special press conference that will be held on Friday, July 16. The company provided no information about the conference other than to say it would focus on the iPhone 4.
There has been some speculation of a recall of the phones, discussion of a software update to fix reception issues, and a lot of shenanigans dealing with disappearing threads in the Apple support forums. We can only hope that the company will provide straightforward answers to the questions that a lot of Apple fans are asking.
