Are iPhone users getting a bad deal?

The iPod Touch’s processor was quietly boosted to 532MHz (up from 412MHz) with the 2nd generation model introduced in September. Meanwhile, the iPhone 3G, Original iPhone and 1st Generation iPod Touch continue to run at the original 412MHz.

As games are getting more and more demanding, we are noticing subtle speed differences between the two devices. This, paired with the fact that the iPod Touch feels so 'premium' with it's metal back, leaves us iPhone owners feeling a little dejected with our cheap plastic device.

Do you think the iPhone should go back to a metal back? And more importantly, when is the (more expensive) iPhone going to be on par with the tech spec of the iPod Touch?
