Activision has announced that Wolverine has sunk his claws into the App Store soon via an app called X-men Origins: Wolverine The Game -- Feral Sense. God I hate these long titles with all the colons and dashes. Unwieldy title aside, Feral Sense does bring an interesting little feature to the App Store's stable of applications and games.

It uses a photo recognition tech that lets users snap photos of icons found on in-store marketing materials and the back of the boxes for X-men Origins: Wolverine The Game's Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions to unlock exclusive Wolverine content on their iPhones. As an example, here's the icon found on the back of the PS3 game's box.

All you have to do is pick the corresponding icon in the Feral Sense app, line it up with the icon on the back of the box, and snap a picture. That's it. Protip: if you don't have the console games, you can just walk into a retail outlet and snap a pic without buying it. There's also another exclusive icon on the PlayStation Blog. Or you can just click here and get all five icons.

Yeah, it's not really a game per se, just an app that lets you unlock and view 3D screenshots, trailers, wallpapers, and the like. The 5th and final Behind the Scenes Trailer is also available only in the Feral Sense application.
