The App Store has become home to a lot of remakes since its debut last year. Later this month, DotEmu plans to add another retro remake in the form of Nicky Boom 2.

Nicky Boom 2 is the sequel to, well, Nicky Boom. Originally released on Amiga and DOS in 1993 by Microïds, Nicky 2 is a side-scrolling platform game about a boy named Nicky and his magical goose. The one he's riding on (or choking, if you choose to see it like that) in the top pic, I'd imagine.

The iPhone and iPod Touch version of the game features new weapons, new enemies to use them on across six worlds, remastered sound and music from the original, and a feature that lets you save at any time. It's currently slated for release later this month.

» Does anyone remember this game

1993 seems a little late in the reign of the Amiga, I think I'd long since given up on the Amiga and had a 486 by then. Well actually I only gave up on the Amiga in 1992 when you're young a lot happens in a year :)

Particular going from year10 to year11.
