Luc Bernard is not a fan of the App Store's microtransaction, and he does not waste time playing coy about his opinions. Talking to PocketGamer, the Oyaji Games head did not have qualms using the word "rape" to describe the presence of paid-for DLC on the popular DL store.
"I keep on seeing all this talk about paid-for DLC on the App Store," Bernard starts out. "I honestly don't like it. When I buy a game I want to have everything in there for the price I paid." And he's not one to just talk without the walk, either. As a a matter of fact, their own release for the iPhone, Mecho Wars, does not have to pay anything for the game updates to be released.
We could have made the online portion of the game an in-app micro transaction but I think that would be raping the customer. I honestly don't believe in paid-for DLC on the App Store. Most of the top games are 99 cents games so the average iPhone customer is obviously not willing to spend a lot of cash on games. To be honest, I would rather have a fresh new experience than loads of additional content.
