iPad Tips and Tricks: Rearrange Icons On Your iPad's Home Screen

1. To start off, go to your iPad’s home screen. Then, touch and hold on any of the icons and wait for it to start shaking or jiggling. This mode is also called the “jiggly”mode. 2. Once you are at the jiggly mode, you can once again touch and hold icons and can easily move them around the home screen based on where you want to place them. 3. To relocate icons to the next pages you need to drag the chosen icon to the left or right edge of the page. This results in the home screen changing and the held icon can now be placed wherever you choose on that page. 4. Apart from changing icons on the home page, you can also change and replace icons on the main dock at the bottom of the screen. For example, if you do not listen to music very often but text a lot, you can replace the iPod application with the Messages application.

5. A cool feature is that when you touch, hold and drag an icon onto another icon, a folder gets created. You can put as many as 20 applications into a folder on the iPad. You can also replace the dock icons with a folder icon. 6. When in jiggly mode, tapping on the ‘x’ next to the icons will result in them and their data being deleted. So do so only if you want to. 7. After you are done rearranging icons to your liking, press the home button to exit the jiggly mode and return to the home screen. An interesting tip here is that if you wish to rearrange a larger number of icons through different home screens, it is advisable to use iTunes virtual screen by connecting your iPad to your computer. So there you have it, rearranging icons is one of the simplest tasks on your iPad. You are now ready to use the iPad the way you want it.
