Mute The easiest way is to hold the volume button down for a couple of seconds. This should put the iPad on mute. Some apps won’t like this, but normally it works just fine. Organising your apps on different screens This is a good one, and very useful as you collect more and more apps. You can create multiple screens and have a different screen for each type of app, eg Games, Media, Productivity, etc. Choose the icon of the app you want to sort and keep dragging it right. Presto, a clean new screen appears! You can do this as many times as you like, so you can organise your apps exactly how you want them. Accidentally hitting the home key If you have hit the home key by mistake, keep it pressed for a couple of seconds. This will makes sure your iPad doesn’t quit the app you’re in. Fast Web Scrolling After carefully scrolling through miles of webpage you decide you want to revisit the top. You have to slog all the way back up by scrolling page after page? Nope! Just touch the title bar and you’re instantly back at the beginning. Clear Cache, history and cookies in Safari Touch the ‘Settings’ icon then ‘Safari’. Towards the bottom right of the screen you’ll see ‘Clear History’, ‘Clear Cookies’ and ‘Clear Cache’. Press any of these to perform the action. You’ll be prompted with a confirmation alert: to precede press ‘Clear’. Job done. Adding more apps to you iDock The iPad’s app dock at the bottom of the home screen has a default for 4 apps like the iPhone. Actually it can hold 6. To add your other 2 favorite apps to the iDock, just touch and drag to the bottom of the screen. Finding out your iPad’s MAC address If you’re having network difficulties, you may need to quote your iPad’s MAC address. Go to ‘Settings’ on the home screen, select ‘General’ and ‘About’. Towards the bottom right of the screen it will tell you both your iPad’s unique address and the one for your Bluetooth.
