Use it to get photos off of your iPod Touch or iPhone
If you are quite the Apple fan and have an iPhone or iPod Touch in addition to the iPad, you can use the Camera Connection Kit to snag photos from either of those devices. This comes in handy if you carry photos on those devices and would like to view them on the iPad's larger display. It's also useful as it gives you another option for photo transfers rather than the typical camera to iPad or computer to iPad methods. Now that you are ready to transfer the photos, let's discuss what you will need. You'll need the iPad, plus your iPhone or iPod Touch. You will also need the USB attachment from the Camera Connection Kit, as well as a sync cable for that works with your Apple device. To begin the process, first unlock the iPad. Next, attach the cable and wait a couple of minutes. By now the Photos app should open up and display an import screen. On this screen you will see the photos from your other Apple device, be it the iPhone or iPod Touch. Snoop around, pick the desired photos for transfer to the iPad, and tap on the import option. This can be found in the top right hand corner of the app. Once complete, you should now have your newly transferred photos on the iPad. Just as a heads up, you may run into a snag or too while performing this task. You want to make sure that your iPhone or iPod Touch is unlocked. If it is not, you won't see the photos pop up on the iPad for importing. Another possible snag with this transfer process is that even if your device is unlocked, you still may not see the images pop up on the iPad. Why? Depending on your luck, the attached device may be sucking too much power from the iPad. Try to put your Apple device in sleep so that it won't drain so much juice from the iPad. Stay tuned for more ways that the iPad Camera Connection Kit can be used in part 3 of this series.
