1. AirPrint is an integrated feature of the iOS 4.2 on the iPad and hence, does not have to be switched on. It is ‘on’ by default.
2. There are several applications which support this feature as mentioned in the previous article about AirPrint. You need to be using one of these applications to use the feature.
3. Once you are sure of what you want to print, you simply need to tap on the share icon (an icon resembling an envelope).
4. Upon tapping the share icon you will be presented with a menu containing various actions for the page/email/photo that you have selected. At the bottom will be a print icon which you need to tap.
5. The next screen will show you various options for printing. Tap the printer option which will result in enabling AirPrint, which then searches for the various supported printers in your wireless network.
6. If you wish to change printing options, you must do it from your printer or through your computer directly. Unfortunately on the iPad the only printing option after selecting the printer is to decide how many copies you need to make. The default option is set to 1 copy.
7. Once you decide on that, Voila! The options disappear, and you can get back to your work. An icon at the bottom shows you the printing progress and at this point your printer should be printing your selected content.

It is as simple and easy as that. If you own an ePrint enabled printer, printing from your iPad using AirPrint can be this straightforward. To play around with shared printers you can use a number of applications such as Printopia and FingerPrint through your Mac.
There you have it… AirPlay is an amazingly effortless and useful application. One of the only drawbacks is that you must have a compatible printer, but if you do, you are good to go! Happy printing and check back soon for additional tips and tricks that will help you to make the most out of your iPad.
