iPad News: Success of iPad Sends Apple Stock Soaring

As iPads fly off retailers’ shelves, Apple’s stock heads for a record peak, as investors express their confidence in the company’s future. While the iPad can’t be given all the credit for Apple’s soaring stock prices, its phenomenal sales certainly haven’t hurt. Apple Inc.’s stock prices hit a record peak of almost $300 on Tuesday, and analysts predict they won’t stop there. That’s an impressive climb from about $7 per share in early 2003, or even the post-iPhone $169 in 2008. Obviously, the sales on iPads, iPhones and iPods had a lot to do with Apple’s fortunes over the last few years. With the iPad just now moving into major US retail chains and becoming available in more countries, sales projections for 2011 range from a conservative 20 million to a more optimistic 50 million. Also expected to contribute to Apple’s bottom line is the addition of more carriers for the iPhone, which has been exclusive to AT&T since its debut in 2007. Now don’t you wish you had bought that Apple stock for $7 back in 2003?
