iPad News: RIM BlackPad Coming Monday?

It looks like another iPad competitor is on the way, as RIM prepares for a major press event in San Francisco on Monday. The firm has remained hush-hush on the details of the event, just promising something “big,” and the biggest thing on their plate right now is the BlackPad. RIM could use something big about now, considering that the much-anticipated BlackBerry Torch fizzled and the classic Blackberry has been losing customers to the iPhone. While the BlackPad could go over well with the businesses already using the BlackBerry, their meager selection of only 8,000 apps will need some beefing up to compete with the iPad. Rumors last month placed the BlackPad price at $499.
