iPad News: Beatles Come Together with iTunes

Since iTunes debuted in 2003, one of the few holdouts refusing to sell its music through the online store has been history’s most influential rock band, the Beatles. When the young group from Liverpool, England, hit U.S. shores in 1964, everything changed, from music to fashion men’s hairstyles! Now the long wait is over, and the music of the Beatles has finally come to iTunes. Fans can purchase 13 individual albums for $12.99 or $19.99 each, or the Beatles Box Set containing all of them, plus extra features including video of the band’s 1964 concert at Washington Stadium, for $149. Individual tracks are $1.29 each. Archival footage of the Beatles can be viewed on iTunes, along with five commercials for the band on iTunes. Apple CEO Steve Jobs, a longtime fan, stated, “We love the Beatles and are honored and thrilled to welcome them to iTunes. It has been a long and winding road to get here. Thanks to the Beatles and EMI, we are now realizing a dream we’ve had since we launched iTunes ten years ago.” Let the British invasion begin!
