iPad News: Apple Promises Tuesday is `a day you'll never forget`

Apple put this announcement up on their site today, promising some big news about iTunes tomorrow morning. It can’t be a new version of iTunes, because 10.1 just came out last week. It can’t be he debut of AirPlay, which would allow streaming of video and music from iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch to Apple TV, because that’s dependent on the release of iOS 4.2, which was delayed last week due to a glitch in Wi-Fi connectivity. The likeliest guess is that Apple will debut cloud-based streaming of all iTunes content, which would allow users to access their entire iTunes library from any Apple mobile device. This has been rumored for months, since Apple had been building a mammoth server farm in North Carolina and it’s expected to be ready for operation by the end of the year. Another possibility is Apple offering an iTunes subscription service. A third is that the Beatles catalog will finally be available on iTunes. Whatever it is, we’ll find out 7AM PT/10AM ET Tuesday morning.
