iPad News: Apple Plugs a Loophole

Owners of multiple Apple devices have been allowed to move TV shows rented from iTunes from their iPad to Apple TV, or iPhone to iPod Touch, but not since the Terms and Conditions have been amended to say, “Content rented using your Apple TV, iPad, iPhone 4, or iPod touch (4th generation) may not be moved.” From the sound if this, if you rent content from your Mac, you can still move it to a mobile device, but if you rent from the mobile, you can’t transfer it anywhere else. If you try, it will be wiped after a restore. Of course, we know that there’s always a way to get around any regulation, but you have to wonder what’s the reasoning behind this? The use of the word “content” rather than video would suggest that there are different types of content coming to iTunes—and Apple's planning to protect them.
