iPad 2 hacked already?

Ó

iPad 2 was just recently released, and already, a hacker is claiming that he's already cracked it open.

A guy going by the handle of @comex at Twitter posted this video of the iPad 2, allegedly jailbroken. In the video, you cn see Cydia 1.1 running on the latest craze gadget from Apple. He said in his tweet, "Would've had it yesterday if I didn't have to spend 15 days looking for a replacement exploit."

Although the hack came just in the heels of the iPad 2 release, it still took quite a bit longer than usual, presumably because Apple had tried to strengthen its defenses against hackers.

It's still a breakthrough nonetheless for those looking to jailbreak their iPad 2. Check out iPad 2 running on Cydia 1.1. in the video below.

Why not jailbreak?

What a bullshit. Everyone is pretending aslike jailbreaking a device is the most normal thing in your life. In fact it's the most timeconsuming thing you can do with your iDevice.
Why not:

- Makes your iDevice slow, less stable - Don't comment that this fact is not true, I have been told it is not true so many times, but the people who say that are nothing but fanboys that just reached their 14th anniversary. Too bad it IS true, and there is nothing you can do, even with a fresh Cydia jailbreak.
- You lose your Apple-warranty. (I am not talking about breaking your glass, I know that you can replace the glass yourself, but I am talking about stuff like for example iTunes Restore Error 26 I got few months ago on my 3GS thanks to the jailbreak)
- It made piracy possible, letting stingy people try to save $0,99/€0,79 for an app.
There are a plenty of more reasons, but I think this will receive 100 comments saying that these statements are not true. Well I have experienced them, and this is just my opinion.

Before commenting with: this iPad had dual core processor ...

Well what ever you want to think, fact is, eating CPU power will drain your battery a LOT. Too bad I forgot to add that to the list.

Just because I feel like responding:
-To the point about it slowing your device down, that *only* happens if you are stupid and install things that will slow it down like animated themes or ancient apps that havent been ported to the newest version of IOS. Jailbreaking in its self is not what slows the device down, but the stupid installing of random apps and themes and never removing them. Same thing can happen if you install a bunch of apps from the app store.
-I have been jailbreaking my devices for years, and I have never been told that my warrantee is void when something happens and I have to take it in.
-I do agree with the piracy thing but it has not done much damage to the whole app ideal (like it did to psp games).

My 2(3?) cents.
