How Many iPad Apps are in the iTunes Store?

You might have felt surprised to see such a big number of apps in the App Store. The number of apps created for the iPhone platform and the iPod platform have been increasing at a faster rate from the day of their launch. Even though the iPad was launched only recently, the number of apps for the iPad available is staggering. Recently, the staff at TechCrunch did attempt to discover the actual number of iPad apps and discovered an easy way to find them. There are at present 5,405 iPad only or universal apps, which work on both the iPhone and the iPad.
Do you want to find out the number of iPad apps for yourself? It is a simple process and it doesn't require any technical knowledge to do so. Simply launch iTunes on your iPad and select the App Store. At the top of the window, you will see one button that says “Release Date” next to “what’s hot” and “New”. Select this “Release Date” option and you'll could find yourself upon all the apps that are available in the store. This option would also give you other information i.e. the total number of iPad apps available in the store.
On July 11, 2008, Apple opened the App Store to enhance the experiences of it users. Within two months of its launch, the number of iPad Touch and iPhone apps reached 3000. In the case of iPad apps, more than 5000 of them were added to the store within one month. In fact, the rate of growth of iPad apps is very interesting and may even surprise many. On April 8, on the sidelines of iPhone OS 4.0 media preview in Cupertino, Steve Jobs announced that there are 3500 iPad apps available in the stores. Three weeks later, the total numbers of iPad apps increased by two thousand, which means approximately 100 iPad apps were added each day.
With the huge popularity of the products by Apple, many software houses are writing code on the expectation of making the next great app. The real advantage is for the users who are getting a never before experience through these apps. One thing is sure, more and more iPad apps would be added to the stores as there are many software houses getting ready to try their hand in this market.
