What does iPad ready really mean? Well, in simple terms, it means a website that’s been built to support open standards, like HTML5, CSS 3 and JavaScript, and doesn’t include any content that requires Adobe’s insecure and crash prone Flash plugin. Apple has published a iPad Ready Websites page that highlights some of the top-shelf properties that have been optimized for viewing on the iPad. Yes, that means these sites are “Flash-free” at least to a certain degree, though as of this writing it’s questionable whether this beauty is more than skin deep.
