When Apple announced the refresh of the iMac line in October, many desktop enthusiasts were quite excited. After all, it had been quite some time since the larger computers had seen any kind of an update, so fans were starting to get antsy. That being said, even when announcements were first made a month ago, the company was quite vague on release dates. As of today, we can give you at least one of them.

Back at the event, Apple originally said that we would see a 21.5 inch iMac in November, with a 27 inch appearing in the following month. While dates on the larger model still remain as ambiguous, we can now officially say that the 21 inch will be readily available on the 30th of this month. In case you haven't checked your calendars, that's just three days from today!

Starting at $1,299 these computers are really quite special should you be looking for a more full featured experience. The super thin LCD screens puts the user right in front of the action and uses that trademark design that many have come to know and love. As far as raw specs go, you'll see a pretty speedy i5 processor thrown into all models, as well as 8GB (or more) of RAM, and 1TB HDDs. The graphics chips could be a slight wash with just 512MB of memory, but I suppose hardcore gaming has yet to really become a part of the Mac universe. If this sounds like your kind of thing, you've only got a few more days to prepare should you want the smaller option!

wow expensive as shit. crappier specs than a windows laptop of the same price. Pathetic that it costs that much without being a laptop at least.

I do love Macs, but the pricing seems to be getting worse every year.

I like how they only show the very edge that's thin even though the rest of the iMac is just as thick as it's always been. I also like how what's his name attempted to turn the iMac during the conference just enough to hide the thick part.

Apple - you've lost it.

I agree with most of you. I was shocked when I saw the GPU only had 512MB. My XP desktop has that much on its stock card! Still, a mac fan will tell you they pay for the design too. What you think of that, well I suppose that's up to you! :P
