Top 5 Free Apps for Your JailBroken iPad

On top of access to great new apps, another great thing about jailbreaking is that you still get to use the regular Apple apps without any problems. So get ready to be familiar with the word Cydia, and get excited to tell your friends you "hacked" your Ipad (they won't know any better!), lets go:

THE TOP 5 JAILBREAK APPS

0. Cydia

Why zero? Because you get Cydia when you jailbreak your Ipad.. and it's such a gyp (no offense to gypsies) that I would use one of the Top 5 for an App you have no choice in downloading. o_o

What's Cydia? It's a little like the app store, it has free and paid apps. The difference? The Apps on Cydia can do things that Apple doesn't want you to do.

1. SBsettings

This is an awesome app that allows you to turn on and off wifi, bluetooth and 3G. All you have to do is swipe at the top left of the screen and the menu pops down.

2. Backgrounder

This is the app the lets you multi-task. Simply hold the menu button while you're in the app you want to stay open. The screen reads "backgrounding enabled" and that's it. In the options you can turn on an icon that tells you what programs are running in the background.

Word of warning though, you can have so many programs open that your battery doesn't charge. Apple seems to have a tight little machine, as having two apps open at once can severly deplete your battery life.. however, having pandora playing while you're surfing safari is pretty cool O_O.

Backgrounder comes with another program called "activator" that is used to enable the use of the menu button. Don't freak out when you see it in "settings".

3.dTunes

Need an Alternative to Itunes that is free? Check out D-tunes, it might be a little glitchy and ugly and unorganized but it allows you to download and play music and almost any song you can think of. Early today I was watching Elfen lied and I was bored so I turned on my Ipad to see if I could find the theme for it, named Lilium. Within seconds I had it and was downloading it and all from in the app.

You can also listen to music from it in the background while in other apps (and that's without backgrounder) This is probably one of my most used apps, it's especially nice because it allows you to download audio/video and torrents This app seriously expands the horizons of what you can do with your ipad. The world is at your fingertips ... well Apple's fingertips.. but still!

4. Full Force

Full force is an interesting app to say the least. It's changes the app resolution of iphone games to ipad resolution. For apps like facebook this is great but for many games and apps it has some strange and glitchy effects. Check out Facebook before and after Full-Force is applied.

Also, don't worry about it being permanent or anything, you can go into settings and flip the full-force effect on and off for each app/game.

5.Mxtube

Maybe I'm a little old-school, as this app came out YEARS ago but this is one of my favorite apps of all time. It lets you download any videos on youtube and it lets you download them at many different quality levels. If you download in high quality, it can be almost DVD quality on your Ipad.. so it's pretty amazing. I downloaded the entire Karate Kid movie from the 80's in 12 parts and watched it traveling.

It's also great for anime fans, sure you have to download things in three parts but you'd be surprised at how addicting it can be to start downloading stuff with the app. Music Videos/ Tv Shows/Music/ Movies ... a lot of entertainment can be gleaned from MXtube, use it well young skywalker .
