Nokia Tablet's Unique Perspective to Combat iPad

Despite the fact that a considerable amount of effort is currently invested on perfecting the first of its kind- Windows Phone 7 handsets, the CEO, Stephen Elop recently revealed in an interview that the company is officially thinking out the form that the tablet should take.

Elop hinted that the company could leverage on the Microsoft Windows technology and the software and build a tablet that is Windows-oriented. That said, he also mentioned that they had not completely ruled out the possibility of coming up with other alternatives by using existing software assets that the company already has. In his defense, despite anticipated boom within the tabloid markets, almost every manufacturer has struggled to get a strong foothold. By not revealing too much and holding the cards close to its chest, at least Nokia will be able to explore the possibilities and see what works before making the crucial choice of operating systems between Symbian, Windows or MeeGo. In the interview, Elop also added that while there were well over 200 different tablets that are available in the market, only one among them was doing exceedingly well. Moreover, he stated that the company needed to take a ‘uniquely Nokia perspective’ and hence the teams were working extremely hard on creating something that is unique and has a clear differentiating aspect relative to anything that is in the market.
