iPad Hacks:Jailbreaking iPad using Greenpoison on Windows.

Few important points before you start the jailbreaking process are as follows:

You should be aware that jailbreaking can void the warranty of your iPad. So, be careful and do it at your own risk.
You need to atleast have iOS 4.1 installed on your iPad if not iOS 4.2.1.
Make sure you backup your iPad before starting the process. It is however advised that you jailbreak your iPad on a clean restore.
You need sure that the latest version of iTunes is installed on your computer.
Jailbreaking often reduces the security of the iPad, so make sure you keep your iPad secure.

It’s now time to get on with the jailbreaking process. Follow the guide for Windows mentioned below:

1) Go to the greenpoison website (www.greenpoison.com) and download the file for Windows (click on the windows icon). 2) Once you have it downloaded, extract the files on your desktop. Launch the application by clicking on the greenpoison icon. 3) Next, connect your iPad to your computer but power it off. 4) Start the process by clicking the ‘Prepare to Jailbreak (DFU)’ button. 5) You will have to put your iPad into the DFU mode which you can do so by reading the instructions on the applications.

6) Press and hold the Sleep button for 2 seconds. 7) The seconds will countdown and then keep holding the sleep button while you hold on the home button for a time of 10 seconds. 8) After the 10 seconds you need to let go of the sleep button while press the home button for 15 seconds. 9) Once the 15 seconds complete then your iPad will enter the DFU mode. 10) Click on the Jailbreak button on the application.

11) Once the green process bar fills up you should be able to see the Quit button on the application. Click on the Quit button. 12) Your iPad should show text in verbose mode scrolling. 13) You iPad will then automatically reboot. 14) Once the iPad restarts you will notice on the home screen that there is a new icon. This is the loader app. 15) Tap on the loader app to launch it, then click on the Cyda and then install. This will install Cydia on your iPad. 16) Once Cydia gets installed you no longer need the Loader app. You can uninstall it by tapping on the options button, then remove loader app. 17) Once thats done-Congrats! You have successfully jailbroken your iPad. A cydia icon will be created on your homescreen. 18) Restart the iPad, tap on the Cydia icon and install all the latest updates onto your iPad. iPad users on Windows.
