iPad Hacks: I Jailbroke My iPad and Have Cydia. Now What? Part 2

Make file management easier If you use your iPad for work or school, or simply store a lot of files on the device, you are going to want quick access to your various documents. The iPad does not have a great file browser for you to do so, but you can fix this after a jailbreak. Look for the iFile app within Cydia and install it. Once finished, you can now find what you are looking for with greater ease. You will be able to view files according to their format, move them to other directories, rename them, send them to others via email, plus much more. The iFile app can even be used as a file server. Use Wi-Fi for easy syncing Nobody likes the clutter caused by cords. That doesn't even mention the fact that many times cords, especially ones for USB, can be misplaced. One convenient use of a jailbroken iPad is that you can tweak it to allow you to sync using a Wi-Fi connection. Wi-Fi Sync is the app you will want to look for in Cydia. It's not cheap at $10, but it will give you the wireless convenience you might desire. You will need to install the app on your iPad as well as the syncing computer. Once finished, open up iTunes on your computer and then perform a Wi-Fi sync with your iPad. If done properly, iTunes will recognize the iPad and you will be able to sync without the need for any irritating wires. It should be noted that the syncing process will not be as fast as compared to a USB sync, so be a little patient. Make iPad use more traditional with a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard If you are new to Apple products or touch-screen devices, you may find that using them is a bit odd. For some, nothing beats a good old mouse and physical keyboard. Luckily, you can have this functionality with your jailbroken iPad via Bluetooth. To use a Bluetooth keyboard with the iPad, look for the BTstack Keyboard app in Cydia. It is said to work with all HID Bluetooth keyboards and will allow you to type on your iPad normally. Most that are used to traditional keyboards will find that this will allow them to become faster and more efficient on the iPad. For your Bluetooth mouse connection, the same developer has you covered with the BTstack Mouse app. Look for it in Cydia, install it, put your mouse into discoverable mode, and you now have a wireless mouse to use with your iPad. These apps listed in part 1 and 2 of this series should make using your iPad easier, but there are even more to come in part 3..............
