Since your iPad has gone through the jailbreak process, it can now be tweaked and modded with third party apps and utilities. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities for you to get the most out of the device. It may even make you feel a bit excited that you have joined the jailbreak underworld and its gang of rebels. Now let's take a look at some specific things you can do. Before we begin, however, that “Cydia thing” we mentioned in the intro is actually quite important, as it will serve as the home base for all of the upgrades or downloads that we are about to list. Think of it as your app store that comes with jailbreaking the iPad. Equip the iPad with multitasking Despite all the greatness that is the iPad, it does not have multitasking at this time. The new iOS 4 is said to give the iPad that power, but it won't be available until later this fall. In the meantime, since you have your jailbroken iPad, you can make it a multitasker. To get multitasking, download the free Backgrounder app from Cydia. As its name hints, it allows you to run apps in the background while you perform another task. Once installed, you can easily make an app run in the background by simply holding down the Home button for several seconds. You will be notified by a message that will tell you that the app will keep running in the background, and you can then move on to your next task. Arrange your interface to your liking Depending on how many apps you have, you may want some flexibility in how you keep your iPad organized. People who have a ton of apps will probably want to fit as many icons on a page as possible. If you download the Infiniboard app within Cydia, you can achieve this flexibility. Infiniboard allows users to place an infinite amount of icons on a page. You won't have to worry about any icon limits. As you add more and more icons, all you have to worry about is scrolling down to access them, but they will remain on the same page. Infiniboard costs $1.99 to download.
