iPad Hacks: How to Bypass the iPad's Lack of a Camera

The first step in this process is to go into the App Store on your iPad. Once there, you will want to find the “Camera for iPad”. It's an app made by Headlight Software and it won't damage your pockets, as it only costs 99 cents to download. Once you have the app downloaded to your iPad, go onto your iPhone, hit the App Store, and find the app once again. Download it to your iPhone, and don't worry about the cost. Since you already purchased the app for the iPad, Apple will not charge you twice for the iPhone download. Now that you have Camera for iPad downloaded on both the iPhone and iPad, find the app on your iPad and select it. Once there, a popup will appear that says “Looking for other iPhones or iPod Touches.” Next, go on your iPhone and open the Camera for iPad app. You will see a similar popup on the iPhone that will list your iPad. Do not select the iPad option on your iPhone. Instead, go back to the iPad and select the iPhone from the touch-screen. Once these steps are completed, the camera on the iPhone will open up, and you will see the same view on your iPad as well. Next, aim your iPhone at something you want to take a picture of. When you are focused on your object, take the picture by tapping on the iPad. At the top of the iPad's screen you will see a status that it is “Taking Photo.” That will then switch to “Receiving Photo.” Give the process a little time to complete itself, as it is not instant. You can now exit the app, and go to your photos on the iPad. You will then find your photo you just took. The photo will be in iPad resolution. Again, this might not be the smoothest photo taking experience, but it gives you an alternative to having to send yourself a photo via email that was taken with your iPhone.
