iPad 2 Jailbreaking News Update

So in case you are not aware of what’s going on in the iPad 2 jailbreak situation, let’s fill you in. Last month, Comex had reported that he had jailbroken his iPad 2; however he has quit on that particular project. After Comex, p0sixninja had posted that there is jailbreak soon to be released by the Chronic Dev Team. Unfortunately, there is no further news on when and if this is happening since he later posted saying that the development on an iPad 2 jailbreak is running pretty slowly.

A few days back an unknown developer by the name of d0nfyxn has posted through a series of videos and pictures a jailbreak for the iPad 2. These show the iPad 2 running Cydia and Installous, two well known jailbreak apps. In fact, an alpha version of the jailbreak has been released for Windows users. However, MuscleNerd a well known iDevice expert has investigated this suspicious looking alpha version of a jailbreak and posted that it is a fake app which is written to display the message- Failed to Connect Device, please try again. So it’s back to square one almost. Let’s hope the Dev Team are able to solve the iPad 2 jailbreaking mystery and release a stable version either tethered or untethered pretty soon. Meanwhile, those of you who are waiting please do not install anything from unknown developers and wait for the official release to come out from the Dev Team. Also, let’s pray that the day when the jailbreak is released is not too far ahead.
