Rayman has been in our hearts and minds for almost two decades at this point, but that doesn't mean that he has any less new ground to break. With the series' simple but effective platforming mechanics, it is a game that almost anyone can get into, which makes it a suitable addition to the ever-growing mainstream mobile gaming market. In line with these statements, the long-running developer Ubisoft has announced that the armless and legless creature will be hitting the iOS and Android platform in just a couple short weeks with a completely unique title known as Rayman: Jungle Run.

Through the use of the Origins engine that too Rayman back to his 2D roots on various consoles last year, this is a game that is sure to look absolutely gorgeous on Apple's much talked about retina display. With completely redesignd and updated graphics meant for a mobile platform, we can assure you that few games are going to look quite as vibrant as this.

However, while these landscapes are sure to look as beautiful as ever, what's more important is what you'll be doing in them. As is on par with the Rayman formula, the main goal here is to run, jump, and climb your way through a series of intricately designed maps that are full of obstacles and items to collect. However along this familiar experience, the good news is you'll be met with many modern iOS accommodations along the way. With support for cloud save and game center, you'll be able to save on any of your iDevices while keeping track of your spot on leaderboards.

If you want a little more Rayman on the go, be sure to look for Jungle Run in the Google and Apple app stores on September 20th.

Rayman doesn't get enough attention, imo.
