If there’s one trend that’s growing faster than any other in the world of gaming, it’s merchandise tie-ins. Games have always had action figures, shirts and other collectible garbage, but in the last five years it seems like things have really gotten out of control. Rovio even makes Angry Birds alarm clocks, for some unexplainable reason. Oh, right—money.

PopCap, creator of Plants vs. Zombies, isn’t one to rest on its laurels while other devs rake in the dollars from lucrative licensing deals. So the company has announced that official PvZ merchandise is on its way. PopCap is teaming up with several merchandising partners to create a wide library of worthless junk on which you can foolishly waste your cash.
