We knew that Ubisoft was hard at work on the next iteration of the Ghost Recon franchise, currently titled Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. We also knew that the studio recently asked Loot Drop, the company founded by Doom creator John Romero, to develop a social game. What we didn’t know was that the social game in development was also a Ghost Recon title.

Loot Drop has confirmed that it’s currently working on a game for both iOS devices and, yes, Facebook, that will somehow tie in to the events of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Ghost Recon Online. The new game is titled Ghost Recon Commander, and will be a turn-based, social strategy game that supports cloud saving between the two different service platforms.
Commander is Loot Drop’s first game so far, and there’s not much information provided beyond what I’ve just mentioned. Keep an eye on the site and we’ll update you as information becomes available.
Would you play a Facebook-based Ghost Recon title?
