Sometimes, the iPad may automatically keep restarting again and again without displaying the home screen. Sometimes, the update/restore process may not complete and the iPad may not be recognizable by iTunes. In other cases, the iPad may stop responding in the middle of the process. In such situations you may have to recover the iPad in its recovery mode. Sometimes an error message will be displayed on your iPad or computer. Follow the steps mentioned in Part 1 of this series before continuing with the steps mentioned below.

Note that in some occasions your iPad may directly go into recovery mode. In such situations follow the troubleshooting process from Step 6 onwards. To put your iPad into recovery mode follow the below steps: 1)      Keep the USB cable attached to the computer but remove it from your iPad. 2)      Hold the sleep/wake button on the iPad and switch off the iPad. 3)      Connect the USB cable to the iPad while pressing the home button. The iPad should switch on. Make sure the iPad has some battery left in it to proceed with the next steps. 4)      Once you make sure of the battery, keep pressing the Home button until the screen says ‘Connect to iTunes’. Once this happens you can leave the Home button. 5)      On opening iTunes you should see a ‘recovery mode’ message. Click the ok button. 6)      Then, using iTunes you can restore your iPad. 7)      Once you restore, you should be able to switch on the iPad and connect to iTunes as normal.

If you however are not able to get iTunes connected to your iPad, follow steps1-7 all over again. You could also try troubleshooting measures from the previous part of this series. Remember that any information stored on your iPad will be deleted in the recovery process. Though, if you had made a previous backup with iTunes, you can sync your iPad to iTunes and restore the backup. Hopefully this two part guide has helped you find solutions to problems you have had with the iPad and to restore it successfully.
