Changing the Wallpaper: There are already 100’s of free wallpapers available for the iPad to download from of the net. Find one you like using the Safari browser and save it to your iPad. If given the option, 1280 x 800 size looks best. Touch and hold the image. A window will give you the choice: ‘Save Image’ or ‘Copy’. Choose ‘Save Image’. Next, visit your iPad home screen and touch the ‘Settings’ icon. Tap ‘Brightness and Wallpaper’ then select your new Wallpaper by touching it. Job done. Stop the Clicking: One thing guaranteed to drive me crazy is a constant electronic clicking noise from a virtual keyboard. Whenever I have bought a new cell phone, my absolute first job is to make the keypad silent. This can easily be done with your iPad. Again, select ‘Settings’ from the home screen. Next, choose ‘General’ from the ‘Settings’ column on the left, followed by ‘Sounds’ from the ‘Settings’ column on the right. On the ‘Sounds’ screen, locate the ‘Keyboard Clicks’ option at the bottom and move the slider to ‘Off’. You now have a lovely silent keyboard. Using your old ‘Bluetooth’ Keyboard: Although it works gracefully with the iPad and looks great, you don’t have to use the Apple Bluetooth keyboard. In fact, any Bluetooth keyboard is compatible. For example, the Stowaway fold-up keyboard works perfectly well with the iPad. If you’ve got one, give it a try before splashing out on the Apple version…. Unless, of course, you want to. Don’t Get Dazzled: You might not want to hold your iPad in such a way that it reflects the sunshine. Although the iPad screen auto-adjusts its brightness to current light levels, the iPad screen is very highly polished. One flash of sun light off that screen into your eyes is going to smart!
