I am a member of a ton of websites, and have a lot of different username and password combinations. Can Safari remember them for me?
Yes, Safari will remember usernames and passwords of different websites if you allow it to. This is definitely a time saver, as you won't have to type them in each time, and it also helps in case you forget them. To enable this feature, go into Settings>Safari>AutoFill. From there, select Names & Passwords and turn it on. I buy a lot of things online from different websites and I am tired of filling out all of my contact information. Can Safari remember this for me? Yes, you can have Safari remember your contact information such as address, etc. and it will fill out those text fields for you the next time around. This great feature can be enabled by going to Settings>Safari>AutoFill. Find the Use Contact Info option and turn it on. From there, select My Info. You can now choose what specific information or fields you want the AutoFill feature to use the next time you have to fill in an application or something similar. I had my iPad setup so that Safari would remember my usernames and passwords, and also fill in text fields, like you just discussed. I want to turn that feature off. How do I do it? To disable the AutoFill feature, just go back into the settings for it and tap on Clear All. Once finished, it will not automatically fill in data for you. I am trying to search the web but my Safari uses Google as the default. I don't like Google at all and prefer Yahoo. Can I change it to make Yahoo my default search? Yes. Change it by going to Settings>Safari>Search Engine. From there, tap on the Yahoo option, and Yahoo will now be your default search tool. I have a ton of bookmarks of my favorite sites and they are hard to keep track of. Can I make different folders to separate my bookmarks according to category? Yes, you can, and it is a smart idea to do so. To create a folder for your bookmarks, go to the top of the Safari browser and hit the Bookmarks icon which is in the shape of a small book. Once in, hit the Edit option in the top right corner of the Bookmarks screen. Next, you will see a New Folder option in the upper left area of the screen. Tap it, and enter the name for your new folder. Select where you want the new folder to reside. Touch Done, and you will now see your new bookmarks folder. Can I switch around the order of my different bookmark folders? Can I delete unnecessary ones? Yes. Simply tap on the Edit option in the bookmarks screen and re-arrange or delete folders as you wish. That wraps up part 2 of the Safari FAQ. Be on the lookout for part 3 coming up next.
