I am somewhat new to the Numbers program. What types of file formats does it support?
In terms of importing, Numbers supports files from the Mac 2009 version of Numbers, Excel files from Microsoft Office '97 or later, and also CSV, or Comma Separated Values. In terms of exporting, Numbers on the iPad will support files from the Mac 2009 version of numbers as well as PDF files. How can I import files into Numbers on my iPad? You can import files into Numbers on your iPad in three different ways. The easiest is by email. Get connected to the internet, access your email on the iPad, and find the desired attachment. Preview it, and then select the Open In option, and the file will open up in Numbers. The second way to import files into Numbers on the iPad is via iTunes and its File Sharing feature. This allows you to get files onto the iPad from either your PC or Mac. In iTunes, go into the My Documents view. Find the Import button, and use it to access the shared files. The third and final way to import files into Numbers on the iPad is by downloading them. You will need to be connected to the internet and visit iWork.com to view the file and import it by selecting the Open In option. I just finished an important spreadsheet using Numbers. What do I have to do to share it with my co-workers? You have three different options to share your files in Numbers. You can access these sharing options from the My Spreadsheets screen. Once there, you will want to locate the desired spreadsheet and go to the center of it. From there, find the Sharing icon and tap it. You will see three different options. You can Send Via Mail if email is preferred, Share Via iWork.com if you want to share it via the internet, or Export if you want to share it via iTunes and its File Sharing feature. That concludes this FAQ on Numbers from iWork for the iPad. Stay tuned for the final iWork FAQ, which will discuss some questions regarding its Keynote program that is great for making custom presentations.
