iPad FAQ: How to setup SNES on the iPad and controller on another iDevice

If you are not aware, emulators is basically a program which allows you to play copies of console games without actually using the console. Instead you play these games on your iPad using an emulator. Today iPad.net brings you the emulator SNES HD for your jailbroken iPad which will convert your iPad into a Super Nintendo System. You will also be able to connect to 2 more iOS devices to use as controllers.

This emulator is free. If you want to try it out then you will find the tutorial mentioned below useful. 1) First of all you need to make sure that you have a jailbroken iPad. Unfortunately for iPad 2 owners, at the time of writing, a jailbreak for the iPad 2 hasn’t been released. Also, when you are using a second iDevice as a controller, you need to make sure that it is also jailbroken. 2) Open up Cydia on your iPad and the other iDevice. Go into the Source tab and add the source by tapping on edit. Enter http://wherethewoozlewasnt.com/cydia/ 3) Once the sources have been added and loaded you need to install SNES (HD) on your iPad and ControlPad on the other iDevice which you will be using as a controller. You can find both apps by searching for them on Cydia. 4) You need to then make sure that bluetooth is active on both the devices and then load up the applications. On your iPad you should see the SNES console while on the other iDevice (say an iPhone) you should see an SNES controller. 5) If by chance the controller doesn’t work then you need to tap on the bluetooth search icon. Once you have paired the device you can start playing. If you are trying this tutorial out them I am sure you are wondering about why there are no games in the SNES emulator. Well this is because it doesn’t come preinstalled with any games since console games are copyrighted. You can get them however from several websites on the internet. So that’s it! If you ok with the fact that you will have to search for games yourself then using your iPad as an emulator is a lot of fun.
