Generally you may not need to pause the installation process of any app on your iPad. Most applications in the app market are less than 20 MB and the install process gets completed pretty quickly. However, in situations when you are downloading say a game like Civilization or Infinity Blade which easily cross several hundred MB’s in size and also trying to watch a movie on Netflix or even trying to save your bandwidth, knowing how to pause your app install may come handy. Of course, if you running your iPad on a Wi-Fi connection without any bandwidth restrictions then it doesn’t matter. But what if you are using a limited data plan and every extra MB used will get you charged by your carrier?

Other situations where pausing app installs may come handy is when you are downloading multiple applications and you want to prioritize. By pausing installation of some apps you want other more important apps to install first. Nevertheless, regardless of whether you need this technique it is always good to know about how to do it. The steps involved in this process are mentioned below:

1)After you have selected the app you want and the iPad starts to download and install the App you can easily tap on the icon of the new application to pause the download. Normally, a small blue bar will be getting filled up as the application downloading/installation process goes on and under the icon ‘Loading’ will be written. 2)By tapping on the icon you will then notice that the blue bar suddenly becomes empty and Paused is written below the icon. 3)You can easily resume the installation process of the app by again tapping on the icon. The blue progress bar will show again and your app will download first and then get installed. Yes, that’s how easy it is. So the next time you need to pause an app, you know what to do.
