Before we start off, you will need your iPad running the latest version of iOS and also an app known as GoodReader installed on your iPad. The guide mentioned below is for zip files which are attached to your emails. However, you can use the same method described below to open zip files which are stored on your iPad, Dropbox or in other locations through other apps on your iPad. Please note that this guide is for both the original iPad and also the iPad 2.
The steps are as follows:
Step 1: Find the attached zip file in your email and then tap on the attachment icon.
Step 2: You need to tap on the option which reads Open in GoodReader.
Step 3: GoodReader opens up and you will find the Zip file under My Documents. Tap on it to open it.
Step 4: A pop-up option menu appears in which you need to tap on the Unzip option.
Step 5: Once it is unzipped you need to tap on the folder to open the content present inside the zip file.
Step 6: Under the Archive pane you will be able to see the list of extracted files. You can now access them.
