The reason? Because the iPad 2 has cameras which can record video footage and also has a faster processor to tackle the heavy loads of video processing of this software. If you are an iPad 1 owner and find this disheartening then do not worry. There is a way to get iMovie working on your iPad and today iPad.net tells you how. Read on for the steps: 1) First of all, make sure you backup your iPad should anything go wrong. 2) Purchase the latest version of iMovie (its costs $4.99) and download it. 3) Next, get hold of the iPhone Configuration Utility pack (IPCU) and download/install depending on whether you are using a Mac or Windows. 4) Open IPCU and go into Library. Here you should be able to find iMovie. If it is present then directly jump to Step 5 of this guide. If it isn’t present then you need to find iMovie manually. To do this tap on the Add button and select the application by going into Users then [my account] then Music then iTUnes then iTunes Media then into the Mobile Applications folder. This is where iMovie is downloaded to.

5) Once you have done this then navigate to Devices with IPCU, select your iPad and click on the applications which are associated with the tablet. On scrolling down you will find iMovie. Tap on it and then select install. This adds the application to your iPad. 6) iMovie will get installed on your iPad in a few seconds. 7) Exit IPCU and restart your iPad. 8) On restarting you will find the shiny new application for iMovie. Open it and enter the world of movie editing on your first generation iPad. You can edit videos which you can get from your iTunes library. However, make note of these things. The next time you sync your iPad to iTunes you will be faced with an error (which says that your device is no longer authorized to be used with iTunes). This is because iTunes will detect iMovie on your iPad which is not supposed to be there. Unfortunately there is no permanent way of removing this error yet. You must cancel and move on. If you click ok, iTunes will remove iMovie from your iPad. It’s however a very small price to pay if you are really into movie editing.
