I tend to need tons of storage out of my electronic devices. Which is better? The iPad or iPhone 4? First, let's see the options you get in terms of storage from each. With the iPhone 4, you get just two different storage capacity versions to choose from: either 16GB or 32GB. With the iPad, you get three versions to choose from: 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB. As you can see, the iPad defeats the iPhone 4's maximum capacity by offering the 64GB version. Still, for a phone, 32GB is not bad at all. The iPad, on the other hand, is a much larger device that could be compared to a laptop. It is expected to be able to store a lot of data, as it is seen as a do-it-all device. It's not out of the question that a person would use the iPad as more of a device to store tons of movies, music, games, work data, and much more. While its 64GB version trumps the iPhone's 32GB, it is a bit disappointing that such a device has such sparse memory capacity. It should be interesting to see if Apple adds more storage capacity to the iPad in the future. The iPad wins this department, but it is rather underwhelming. Between the two, which is better in terms of processing performance? This may be surprising to some, but the iPhone 4 and iPad both have Apple's 1GHz A4 processor. Even more surprising is the fact that the iPhone 4's 512MB of RAM is twice the amount found in the iPad. Considering the size differential and expectations, you would think the opposite would be the case, but it's not. The iPhone 4's extra RAM gives it smoother performance. Hopefully, the next edition of iPad's will be beefed up when it comes to RAM.
