When I was a kid, we had this huge coffee table book about football from Sports Illustrated. It was about two inches thick and must have weighed six or eight pounds. Now Time Home Entertainment has compressed a similar amount of information to fit on an iPad, but this app has features no book can match, like audio commentary by legendary photographer Neil Leifer to accompany the amazing photographs.

The app traces NFL history through award-winning articles, photo galleries and slide shows, while the clickable table of contents lets you go directly to any feature. This app is available for a special introductory price of $7.99 through November 14, and if you love football, it’s worth every penny.
