Navigation through NASA App HD is straight from the heavens above. There are 3 routes to information. The top icon bar takes you to: news listings organised by subjects; a US map showing all NASA installations with links to websites and visitor centers; a list of  launch schedules; and access to current missions. Information can be shared with friends via Facebook, Twitter or email. Icons at the bottom of the screen give you access to multimedia information including images, graphics and TV. A large library of NASA on-demand videos will keep you interested for hours upon end. A great feature of NASA App HD is the ability to track the International Space Station in its orbit around the Earth. A map brings up its current position alongside its trajectory. As the app identifies your current location, you can find out when the ISS is due to pass through your area of the night sky, and you can again share this information with your friends. NASA App HD has an intricate graphical user interface that enables you to explore the solar system as well as the broader universe. Tapping on a planet or object will bring up comprehensive images and data about it, all in fabulous high definition. There is access to NASA’s ‘picture of the day’ plus the ability to scroll through thumbnails of images that may interest you. Anyone with an interest in the skies above us will relish NASA App HD; it’s perfect functionality and wealth of information make it one of the best space apps available for iPad right now.
