GPS sensitivity lets this app pinpoint your location and give you the weather alarms for coming heavy rains, snow, strong winds and other severe conditions. Original videos give sports weather and breaking news, while animated satellite images show where potential storms are likely to strike. If you decided to ride out the hurricane, the electricity is out, the cable is down and you’re hiding in the closet with your iPad, this app can tell you just how much trouble you’re really in. AccuWeather is free with ads, or the ad-free version is $.99 at the Apps Store.
