HanDBase is incredible. The potential size of the database’s capacity is almost beyond imagining, with room to store every piece of information you could possibly need. When placed alongside the HanDBase extensive functionality, DDH Software have created a real winner. In spite of the versatility and size of this app, it runs quickly and smoothly. The app is organized in a way to make access to files intuitive and logical. Updating and creating files is a cinch using the virtual keyboard. Apart from the obvious database functions, this app does some real handy stuff. You can import or export databases via the web browser, a great way to get information flowing to you desktop. Emails can be opened and saved straight to the appropriate folder in HanDBase. The app boasts over 2,000 templates of database design, from straightforward listings to technical databases, human resource folders, financial and statistical databases… the list is exhaustive! Whether you’re an engineer, a chiropractor, an academic or an accounts executive, there are database templates and specific functionality for you. The most important aspect of a database information app is the preservation of data. The first release of HanDBase was unfortunately cursed with a major bug that caused it to crash after memory leaks or when changing between landscape and portrait modes. Data was lost during this crash that rendered the whole app pointless. Thankfully DDH have fixed these glitches and added a backup function to sync with iTunes. Your data is now properly protected if the app should crash. There are a few database-style business apps available on the market. With its earlier teething problems now fixed, HanDBase for iPad has to be the top runner. It’s bursting with functionality, databases are protected via syncing, information flows are easily facilitated and it is just so easy to use. This is well worth the $10 of any company’s money.
