iPad App Review: SugarSync for iPad

When SugarSync was originally released in the App Store users were able to browse files and photos remotely, stream music over the Internet and share files and folders. Unfortunately, there was no functionality available to open a file, make edits or save them locally. This limited the potential of the iPad. But fear not as the latest release makes all of those previous issues possible. How does SugarSync Work

From SugarSync's iPad app you can browse and view files from any computer that is synced to the SugarSync cloud.
If you need to edit a document you must first install a document editor such as Pages for iPad. Once you have that installed simply click 'Open in Pages' on the top of the screen.
Sync your file back to the SugarSync cloud account and you are good to go.

By using the SugarSync service users are able to sync files and folders between Mac and Windows PC's as well as smartphones. All of your files are backed up to the cloud and the data becomes available immediately via your iPad. This app also works with your iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices. If you have files and music all over the place and are one of those people who are always on the go, SugarSync is definitely worth looking into as you will have access to whatever you need no matter where you are or what device you are using.

Good review – there are a few recent changes as of June 2011:
You get 5GB of space with the FREE version, but now there is no restriction to the number of computers you can sync/backup (up from 2).
It gives you the ability to upload and sync any folder on your computer.
It is the only service that offers such a broad device and OS support with apps for BlackBerry, Android, iPhone/iPad, Symbian, not to mention your computer!
