Pocket Informant is not an entirely new app to the Apple scene. It was previously released for the iPhone and became quite popular for its long list of features. With the HD release, Pocket Informant's developers were able to take advantage of the iPad's larger screen and processing power to make the app even more juicy for its users. You might be wondering why you need such an app when you handle your daily tasks via a paper calendar or simplified virtual calendar. Those will work for many, but why not take full advantage of a program like Pocket Informant that can combine your tasks, appointments, and other necessary events in a concise, easy to use manner. The app presents all of the data in a precise view, whether it be daily, monthly, or weekly, and it does it using every bit of the iPad's large 9.7-inch display.
Using Pocket Informant is easy, and you can swipe between different time periods or jump to point of interest within the calendar to see what is going on then. The calendar has a very clean look that won't look cluttered no matter how many events you have loaded. It also uses color coding to help you differentiate between events. You can filter tasks, create templates for new tasks, use specific icons for different events, star important tasks, do in-depth searches for certain events, send appointment meeting requests, and more.

Perhaps the most useful feature of Pocket Informant is that it can sync data between different sources to save time. You can sync it with Google Calendar and Toodledo. For a little extra cash, you can also have the app sync with Outlook. You don't have to worry about managing the syncing either, as the app will auto-sync everything for you every 45 minutes. The features listed are just some of the many offered by this app. It pretty much gives you every option you could need in an organizational tool, and its presentation and user-friendliness is icing on the cake. At $6.99, it's not completely cheap, but it is a time saver and can keep your life together. As they say, “time is money.”
