The big screen of the iPad easily allows you to access and control your computer directly from the iPad. Of course, the screen doesn’t do that by itself but you can install an application from the app store known as Splashtop Remote Desktop which will do that for you.

Unlike other applications previously found on the app store to remotely control your computer, Splashtop Remote Desktop is well designed, fast and very simple to set up. By essentially allowing a one click access on your iPad to access your computer it is highly convenient. Unlike other applications of a similar nature, Splashtop Remote Desktop can allow you to control almost all functions of your computer on your iPad. One of the biggest advantages though is in web browsing. Since it remotely connects to your computers web browser you can now play flash content directly on your iPad, something which iOS currently lacks.

You also have access to all the media content you have stored on your computer. From music to movies, this app allows access to hundreds of Gigabyte’s worth media remotely on your iPad. So, if you hadn’t been able to store something on your iPad because of lack of memory space you can access it on your iPad through your computer. Regardless of the type of computer you have, Splashtop Remote Desktop is compatible with all types of OS’s from the older Windows XP to the latest Windows 7, as well as Mac OSX. You can use the application on your iPad to its full potential and are not restricted to only one kind of computer.
