The long wait of the Apple iPad camera connection kit has finally ended. The connection kit has finally hit the market. The arrival of the camera connection kit has solved the unanswered questions of many photographers. Let us see what devices are compatible with the iPad camera. The connection kit comprises of 2 different adapters. One is a USB cable, the other is a SD card slot. These adapters can easily connect to the cameras, which support the “Picture Transfer Protocol” or even the mass storage protocol. They can also regain all the files from the iPhone 3G’s, iPhone, iPod Nano and even the iPod touch. The connection kit has a slot for the SD card reader module, which can easily read the SDHC memory cards and the SD. However, it does not support the SDXC cards. Because of the adapter, the card reader can easily read the micro and the mini SD cards. There are a few CF card readers, which can be connected easily via the USC cable. Let us see what the iPad camera connection kit does with all the raw files Thanks to the camera connection kit, it is possible for the iPad to upload and also store all the image files that are raw like the cr2 (Canon), the Nikon etc. there is no option for the iPad to work or edit the raw files. However, it is possible for the iPad to create a JPEG optimized version for each of the raw image. You can use this image like any other picture, use it in the slide show, email it and edit the image in any of the third party application. The kit can keep the original file unaltered as well as transfer the exact data to the computer like the way it was on the camera. The photographers can use the iPad as storage; they can preview the images and transfer all the raw files to the PC.
