Did you buy a 16GB iPad last year and now wish you’d sprung for the 32GB or 64GB? Tired of having to stash stuff on your external hard drive at home, then not having it when you’re using your iPad on the go? Kingston has debuted a gadget at CES that could solve all your iPad storage problems. The palm-sized Kingston MobiSX is a flash storage drive with Wi-Fi that’s compatible with all Apple mobile devices. To use the MobiSX, just connect to your iPad via Wi-Fi and start the Safari browser. Enter the IP address for the MobiSX and access your photos, documents, music and video. Movies can be streamed directly to the MobiSX and viewed on the iPad. The battery life is decent—about four hours for video streaming, six on standby.

If you’re ready to go to Amazon and buy one now, you’ll have to wait, because the MobiSX won’t ship until June 2011. The 16GB model will retail for $100, with versions up to 64GB higher. Since these little puppies can more than double the original capacity of your iPad at a reasonable price, the MobiSX should find a nice niche in the market when it arrives this summer. It should also help relieve the anxiety of iPad buyers who aren’t sure which model to buy.
