On the surface, the design of the PadGear Folio Case is very simple. When closed it actually looks like something that would carry a daily planner. Its exterior is shiny and smooth, and has the appearance of leather even though it is not the real thing. You may miss out on that true leather smell, but other than that, it should not be a real issue. The case comes in your choice of either black or brown. I found the brown edition to be more attractive, as the black one could appear to be cheap to some. The case is free of any flashy logos or designs, which may be a good thing if you do not want a lot of unwanted attention. Enclosing the case are two non-scratch zippers that have stainless steel tags for added aesthetic appeal. They help to keep the iPad and other contents inside safely secured, without scratching anything up.

When you open the case, the right hand side houses the iPad compartment. It holds the iPad in a snug manner via four elastic bands that cover the corners of the device. Their elasticity allows you to remove the iPad quickly, but they are still strong enough to hold it well in case of any sudden movements. While the iPad is in the case you still have access to its side panel sockets. You won't have to worry about your iPad getting damaged, as the interior of the case is lined with padding and material that will not scuff it up. Besides holding your iPad, the PadGear Folio also has other compartments. In the middle spine there is a holder for a pen or pencil. The left side of its interior has pockets for business cards, a USB cable, and a notepad or pieces of paper. You get all of these additional storage capabilities in a case that manages to stay slim and portable. Is the PadGear Folio the best out there? No, I doubt it is. If you want a shoulder strap, you will have to look elsewhere. The same is true if you need a stand or want high quality leather. If you want something portable with a little extra storage space, however, the PadGear is a good pick. At $37.99, it is also fairly priced.
